Dashie

The cyan pegasus trotted through the rain. Her head down, along with her ears. It was scheduled to rain around the area of Cloudsdale, which was very fitting for Rainbow's mood. She couldn't get those words out of her head. 'Friends and co-workers', repeated in her head. Though it was apparent the cyan Wonderbolt had a crush on her superior, Soarin, she tried to keep a strong composure. That was until a hour ago today. Rainbow planned on confessing to the stallion, to at least develop a relationship. But what he said to Rainbow, sunk her heart. All those rumors, and tabloids about Soarin and Spitfire being a item, were true. But Soarin reassured the mare that they could remain friends. Just friends. Whenever Rainbow tried to get a colt to like her, they always seem to go for the prettier mare. First, it was when with her Flight-Camp mate and foalhood crush Thunderlane, who began dating Rarity for a short time. Next, was Big Macintosh, Applejack's brother. He let her down gently, and he was sweet on a another friend, Fluttershy. Time, and time again, this always seemed to lead Rainbow fill with rejection and heartache. It was because of her tomboyish demeanor, which lead a rumor saying she was a filly-fooler, and the company she has around, they looked prettier by comparison to Dash. As she trotted through the storming trail, crestfallen, and heartbroken. Then, a gush of wind, blew by. It wasn't caused by any pegasi, she knew this. Standing a few feet behind her was a familiar cobalt blue hedgehog, with a emerald eyes, a peach muzzle, arms, and chest. He wore white gloves, and red and white running shoes, with golden buckles. He stood there, with a caring and worried look.

"Dash?" Sonic called out.

Rainbow didn't respond.

"Rainbow," he called out again. "what happened?"

She stood silent. Tears began to form. Before Rainbow could take another step, she suddenly felt the wind blowing near her, then the felt peach arms wrapped around her neck. Rainbow began silently sob, burying her face into Sonic's chest. She lifted her head, her magenta eyes seeing his emerald ones.

"Sonic," she choked. "Do you think I'm," she whispered the last part. "pretty?"

"I guess things didn't turn out the way you wanted," he answered.

Rainbow nodded. "But that still doesn't answer--"

"You're not pretty," he started, Rainbow mildly glaring at him. "you're beautiful."

Her heart skipped a beat when her rival just said those words. Rainbow looked into Sonic's face, a smile was spread across peach muzzle. A light crimson flush can be seen on his cheeks, making the cyan pegasus' heart beat faster.

"Sonic," she spoke, but was interrupted by a pair of lips touching hers.

Rainbow Dash's eyes widen in shock and surprise. Once his lips parted from hers, Sonic looked into the mare's eyes. She couldn't find any words to say to the hedgehog. She did find him a little attractive, but at first shrugged it off. But over time, she found herself slowly falling for the Mobian hedgehog, who assisted her in saving Gaia. Rainbow then stood on her hind legs, wrapping her forehooves around the hedgehog's head and neck, and returned a kiss of her own. Sonic was a taken back at first, but then melts into the kiss, closing his eyes. For a second, the two separated from each other, smiling at each other.

"Thanks," she lightly chuckled.
